Cheryl Collins Aparo RDO, NCLC
Owner / Optician

Cheryl Collins Aparo RDO, NCLC

Cheryl Aparo opened Ocean Optical in 1994 with a commitment to customer service and the optical profession. She has been a practicing optician since 1974, keeping up with the latest technology and newest frame styles. The optical field is always changing, and a visit to Ocean Optical will attest to Cheryl’s commitment to making sure her customers receive the best in lens and frame design. Personalized one-on-one service, the best products, and a clean, comfortable, up-to-date shop are all things Cheryl is proud to offer. A past Rotarian for many years and a steadfast Chamber member, Cheryl resides in Rockport with her two dachshunds.

Chris Kirkorian, RDO
Optician

Chris Kirkorian, RDO

Chris is a licensed optician with over 15 years of experience in the optical field. He enjoys keeping up with the latest glasses trends and technologies and helping patients find the perfect pair of glasses to meet their individual needs. Chris attended Salem State University, where he obtained his Master’s in Business Administration in 2016. During his time off, he is an avid sports fan who enjoys watching all of the Boston sports teams and going to Fenway Park to watch Red Sox games. Chris lives in Salem, MA with his wife and their son Robbie.

Dr. Lloyd Haskes
Optometrist

Dr. Lloyd Haskes

Dr. Lloyd Haskes, O.D., FAAO, completed his education at New York University and the SUNY College of Optometry. He went on to finish a one-year hospital-based residency at the Newington VA Medical Center, followed by a role on the clinical faculty at SUNY College of Optometry. In his position as an Associate Clinical Professor, Dr. Haskes served as Chief of Eye Care Services at a SUNY-affiliated location within NYC Health + Hospitals Gotham Health. There, he mentored residents and student externs and was honored with the Doctor of the Year Award in 2019. Dr. Haskes currently offers routine and urgent eye care, as well as contact lens fittings, at Cape Ann Optometry.

Maria Jose Pereira
Optical Team

Maria Jose Pereira

Maria was born on the island of Pico, Acores, Portugal. Maria and her parents immigrated to Gloucester in in 1967 where she has been a resident since. Maria is fluent in Portuguese and very very proud of her heritage. She has been with Ocean Optical 18 years, has a "passion for fashion" and LOVES glasses and her job! Maria and her husband of 43 years reside in Magnolia. Together they enjoy traveling, especially to their native Portugal, as well as making amazing memories with their sons Jacob, fiancé Elise, Dan, wife Chelsea and the "loves of their lives" grandchildren Jackson, Amelia, and Margot! "Family First" is their moto. Maria also enjoys cooking, tending to her plants, her dogs, Buddy and Zoey, and cat Gigi.
